5Remove the starter reduction gear shield; then remove the starter countershaft housingAccount for thrust washer (A) and countershaft (B)
NOTE: It may be necessary to strike the head of the bolt sharply with hammer after tightening to free the one-way housing from the crankshaft
8Make sure the transmission is in neutral; then remove the gear shift position switch noting the orientation of the drive pinAccount for an O-ring

NOTE: The thrust washer and countershaft may come out with the countershaft housing
