Inspecting NOTE: Whenever part is worn excessively, cracked, or damaged in any way, replacement is necessary
1Inspect the thermostat for corrosion or spring damage2Using the following procedure, inspect the thermostat for proper operationASuspend the thermostat in container filled with waterAF734D

4Install the front bumper and front fender panel5Install the front rack6Fill the cooling system with the recommended amount of antifreezeCheck for leakage7Connect the fan wiring to the main wiring harnessHOSESTHERMOSTAT Removing (500H1 Models) 1Drain approximately one quart of coolant from the cooling system2Remove the two cap screws securing the thermostat housing to the cylinder headAccount for an O-ring and thermostatRemoving (H2 Models)
NOTE: The thermostat is located in housing in-line with the upper radiator hoses under the air filter housing
