4If any measurement exceeds the limit, replace the cylinder

NOTE: Steps 1-4 in the preceding sub-section must precede this procedure
Installing Top-Side Components
APiston BCylinder 1Install the piston on the connecting rod making sure there is circlip on each side and the open end of the circlip is directed upwards or downwardsNOTE: The piston should be installed so the IN mark is toward the intake (rear) side of the cylinder
5While keeping tension on the cam chain, place the front cam chain guide into the cylinder
! CAUTION
Care should be taken that the bottom of the chain guide is secured in the crankcase boss
