CheckingReplacing V-Belt REMOVING 1Remove the left footwell

4Slowly compress the left brake lever several times; then while holding slight pressure on the brake lever, open the bleed screw and watch for air bubbles in the hoseClose the bleed screw before releasing the brake leverRepeat this procedure until no air bubbles are presentNOTE: During the bleeding procedure, watch the reservoir sight glass to make sure there is always sufficient amount of brake fluid in the reservoirFailure to maintain sufficient amount of fluid in the reservoir will result in air being in the system

2Remove the front and rear V-belt housing cooling ducts3Remove the cap screws securing the V-belt cover noting the location of the different-lengthed cap screws for installing purposes; then using rubber mallet, gently tap on the cover tabs to loosen the coverRemove the coverAccount for two alignment pins and one gasket
5Repeat step until the brake lever is firm
