5With the flywheel key removed, remove the starter ring-gear and spacer washerGZ230A
NOTE: The water pump is non-serviceable component and must be replaced as complete assembly
8Remove the cap screws securing the gear shift cover to the crankcase; then remove the gear shift coverAccount for gasket and washerNOTE: Inspect the inside of the left-side cover for any shaft washers that may have come off with the coverMake sure they are returned to their respective shafts
