2Secure the lower shock eyelet to the A-arm with cap screw and new lock nutTighten to 33 ft-lb3Slide the hub wbrake disc into position in the steering knuckle followed by hex nutTighten finger-tight at this time4Install the brake caliper on the steering knuckleTighten to 20 ft-lb5Set the parking brake; then turn the ignition switch to the ON position, select 4WD on the 2WD4WD drive selector switch, and engage the differential lockTurn the ignition switch to the OFF position6Tighten the hub hex nut (from step 3) to 200 ft-lb; then install and spread new cotter pin making sure each side of the pin is flush to the hub nut Rear Gear Case Rear Differential
REMOVING
NOTE: Release the cargo box latch and allow the cargo box to tilt back; then remove the cargo box lift support by removing the cap screw and nut securing the lower lift support to the frameThe cargo box will tilt fully rearward

1Drain the lubricant from the rear differential; then remove both rear drive axles (see Drive Axles in this section)2Remove the driveline brake caliper; then cut the rear-most propeller shaft boot clamp and slide the boot forward3Remove the boot clamps on the rear driveline boot4Remove the two cap screws and lock nuts securing the rear gear casedifferential to the frame; then remove the gear casedifferential through the upper left-side of the frame and lift out the top
