6Connect either tester lead to pin A; then connect the other tester lead to pin B 7The meter must show less than ohm8Connect either tester lead to pin C; then connect the other tester lead to pin D9The meter must show less than ohm
10With the switch in the OFF position, connect the red tester lead and the black tester lead to each of the remaining pinsThe meter must show an open circuit on all pins
VOLTAGE
INOTE: Perform this test on the harness connector
INOTE: If the meter shows more than ohm of resistance, troubleshoot or replace the switch1 component or the connector
1Set the meter selector to the DC Voltage position
2Connect the red meter lead to either red wire; then connect the black meter lead to ground3Meter must show battery voltageiNOTE: If the meter shows no battery voltage, troubleshoot the battery or the main wiring harness
Handlebar Control Switches
The connector is the yellow one next to the steering postTo access the connector, the steering post cover and the right-side fender splash shield must be removed (see Section 8)iNOTE: These tests should be made on the top side of the connector
