Separating Crankcase Halves 1Remove the thirteen right-side mm cap screws using crisscross pattern; then remove the six right-side mm cap screwsNote the location of the different-lengthed cap screws and the wire clip location2Using the Crankcase Separatorlcrankshaft Remover and tapping lightly with rubber mallet, separate the crankcase halvesAccount for two alignment pinsiNOTE: To keep the shaftlgear assemblies intact for identification, tap the shafts toward the left-side crankcase half when separating the halves
