Disassembling Crankcase Half

Separating Crankcase Halves
1Remove the right-side cap screws securing the crankcase halvesNote the location of the different-lengthed cap screws2Remove the left-side cap screws securing the crankcase halvesNote the location of the different-lengthed cap screws3Using the Crankcase Separatorlcrankshaft Remover and tapping lightly with rubber mallet, separate the crankcase halvesAccount for two alignment pinsiNOTE: To keep the shaftlgear assemblies intact for identification, tap the shafts toward the left-side crankcase half when separating the halvesIEY
