2Remove the left-side mm cap screws (two from inside the case) securing the crankcase halvesNote the location of the different-lengthed cap screws 3Remove the right-side mm cap screws securing the crankcase halves
Disassembling Crankcase Half
INOTE: For steps 1-11, refer to illustration CC985BINOTE: To aid in assembling, it is recommended that the assemblies are kept together and IN ORDER
4Using an appropriate crankcase separator and tapping lightly with rubber mallet, separate the crankcase halvesAccount for two alignment pins, C-ring, and two washersINOTE: To keep the shaftlgear assemblies intact for identification, tap the shafts toward the left-side crankcase half when separating the halves
