Use extreme care when removing the bearingIf the bearing is allowed to fall, it will be damaged and will have to be replaced
3Install the tie rod end and secure with the nutTighten to 30 ft-lb; then install new cotter pin and spread the pinNOTE: During assembling, new cotter pins should be installed
CLEANING AND INSPECTING
NOTE: Whenever part is worn excessively, cracked, or damaged in any way, replacement is necessary
1Clean all knuckle components2Inspect the bearing for pits, gouges, rusting, or premature wear3Inspect the knuckle for cracks, breaks, or porosity4Inspect threads for stripping or damageASSEMBLING AND INSTALLING 1Install the bearing; then install the snap ring making sure it seats into the knuckleAF759D
