2Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position; then select the DC Voltage position on the meter3Connect the black tester lead to spade terminal and the red tester lead to spade terminal ATurn the ignition switch to the ON positionThe meter should read 4.5-5.5 DC volts FI455A

NOTE: If any meter reading is not as specified, replace or adjust the TPS (see INSTALLINGADJUSTING in this sub-section)
7Connect the positive lead to the battery; then connect the negative leadFI456A

4Remove the red tester lead from spade terminal and connect it to spade terminal BThe meter should read 4.5-5.5 DC voltsNOTE: If the meter does not read as specified, check for poor connections at the ECU or openbroken wires in the wiring harness
8Connect the main harness TPS connector to the TPS; then using MaxiClips, connect the black tester lead to the greenblack wire
! CAUTION
Always make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position before disconnecting the ECU
