NOTE: Note the direction of the exhaust side of the piston (5) for correct ring end gap orientation BInstall the middle ring (2) so the letters RN are directed toward the top of the piston; then install the top ring (1) with the lip directed toward the top of the piston
3Lubricate the inside wall of the cylinder; then using ring compressor or the fingers, compress the rings and slide the cylinder over the pistonRoute the cam chain up through the cylinder cam chain housing; then remove the piston holder and seat the cylinder firmly on the crankcaseFI168A
! CAUTION
Incorrect installation of the piston rings will result in engine damage
! CAUTION
The cylinder should slide on easilyDo not force the cylinder or damage to the piston, rings, cylinder, or crankshaft assembly may occur
1Install the piston on the connecting rod making sure there is circlip on each side and the open end of the circlip faces upwardsNOTE: The piston should be installed so the orientation dot is directed toward the exhaust
