NOTE: If the piston rings were removed, install them in this sequenceCC287D
NOTE: If the journals are worn, replace the camshaft; then measure the clearance againIf it is still out of tolerance, replace the cylinder head
Inspecting Camshaft SpringDrive Pin 1Inspect the spring and drive pin for damage
AInstall ring expander (4) in the bottom groove of the piston; then install the thin oil rings (3) over the expander making sure the expander ends do not overlapStagger the end gaps of the upper and lower thin oil rings according to the illustration
