9Install the two gear shift fork shafts; then verify that the two crankcase half alignment pins are in placeNOTE: Prior to joining crankcase halves, turn the shift cam to ensure all gears shift properly Joining Crankcase Halves
1Verify that the shim washer is on the idler shaft; then apply Three Bond Sealant to the mating surfacesPlace the right-side half onto the left-side halfCC981
5From the left side, install the case half mm cap screws; then tighten only until snugNOTE: Rotate the shafts back and forth to ensure no binding or sticking occurs
6From the right side, install the case half mm cap screws (one inside the case); then tighten only until snugNOTE: Rotate the shafts back and forth to ensure no binding or sticking occurs
7In crisscrosscase-to-case pattern, tighten the mm cap screws (from steps 3-4) until the halves are correctly joined; then tighten to 16 ft-lbCC102D
