3Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the engine and drain the oil into drain pan NOTE: On the H1 models, the oil level stick should be threaded into the case for checking purposes
13Remove the oil level stick; the engine oil level should be above the illustrated "L" mark but not higher than the illustrated "F" mark
! CAUTION
Do not over-fill the engine with oilAlways make sure that the oil level is above the "L" mark but not higher than the "F" mark

4On the 400500H1 models, remove the oil filter plug from the filter mounting boss (located on the front side of the transmission case) and allow the filter to drain completelyInstall the plug and tighten securely5On the 700 EFI, remove the left-side engine cover and the left-front inner fender panel6Using the adjustable Oil Filter Wrench and suitable wrench, remove the old oil filterNOTE: Clean up any excess oil after removing the filterATV-0100
