ValveTappet Clearance (700 EFI)
To check and adjust valvetappet clearance, use the following procedureNOTE: The seat, heat shields, splash panels, front rack, and front fenders must be removed for this procedure (see Section 8)CF005
2Rotate the crankshaft to the TDC position on the compression strokeNOTE: At this point, the rocker arms and adjuster screws must not have pressure on themNOTE: Use Valve Clearance Adjuster for this procedure
1Remove the spark plug caphigh tension lead; then using compressed air, blow any debris from around the spark plug
! WARNING
Always wear safety glasses when using compressed air
