1Remove front wheel2Measure the thickness of each brake pad3If thickness of either brake pad is less than 1.0 mm (0.039 in, the brake pads must be replaced PR377B
EInstall the wheelTighten to 40 ft-lb5Burnish the brake pads (see Burnishing Brake Pads in this section)PR376B
NOTE: The brake pads should be replaced as set
Burnishing Brake Pads
Brake pads (both main and auxiliary) must be burnished to achieve full braking effectivenessBraking distance will be extended until brake pads are properly burnishedTo properly burnish the brake pads, use the following procedure
4To replace the brake pads, use the following procedureARemove the wheelBRemove the cap screws securing the caliper holder to the knuckle; then remove the pads
