VOLTAGE (Stator CoilNo Load)
The connector is the black and white one on the right side of the engine just above the brake cable adjusterNOTE: Test the connector that comes from the engine
NOTE: The battery must be at full charge for these tests
Stator Coil (Trigger)
1Set the meter selector to the DC Voltage position2Connect the red tester lead to the blueyellow wire; then connect the black tester lead to the greenwhite wire3Crank the engine over using the electric starter4The meter reading must be within specification
1Set the meter selector to the AC Voltage position2Test between the three yellow wires for total of three tests3With the engine running at the specified RPM, all wire tests must show as specified
! CAUTION
Do not run the engine at high RPM for more than 10 seconds
Starter Motor
NOTE: The starter motor is not serviceable componentIf the starter motor does not operate, see Starter Relay in this sectionIf the relay tests normal, replace the starter motor
NOTE: If both voltage tests failed, check all connections, etc and test againIf no voltage is present, replace the stator assembly
