Measuring Camshaft Lobe Height
1Using calipers, measure each cam lobe height

2The lobe heights must not exceed minimum specificationsInspecting Camshaft Bearing Journal

4Place spring retainer over the valve springs; then using the valve spring compressor, compress the valve springs and install the valve cotters
1Inspect the bearing journal for scoring, seizure marks, or pitting2If excessive scoring, seizure marks, or pitting is found, the cylinder head assembly must be replacedMeasuring Rocker Arm (Inside Diameter)
