INSPECTING OIL PUMP
Servicing Right-Side Components
IWhenever part is worn excessively, cracked, damaged in any way, or out of tolerance, replacement is necessary
1Inspect the pump for damage2It is inadvisable to remove the screw securing the pump halvesIf the oil pump is damaged, it must be replaced
INSPECTING CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH SHOE

1Inspect the clutch shoes for uneven wear, chips, cracks, or discolorationIf any shoe is damaged, replace the complete set2Inspect the clutch shoes for wear or damageIf any shoe is worn to the bottom of the groove, replace the complete set
A CAUTION

DRIVEN PULLEY ASSEMBLY Disassembling

Always replace the clutch shoes as complete set or severe imbalance could occur
This procedure involves relaxing compressed spring assemblyDO NOT attempt disassembling without the proper tools
1Secure Driven Pulley Compressor (pln 0444- 121) in suitable holding fixture such as bench vise; then remove the wing nut, holding handle, flat washer, and pilot bushing leaving the large spacer on the compressor tool baseInspecting clutch shoe groove
