2Place the valve cover on the Surface Plate (pln 0644-016) covered with #400 grit wet-or-dry sandpaperUsing light pressure, move the valve cover in fi ure eight motionIns ect the sealing surface or any indication of igh spotsA high spot can be noted by bright metallic finishCorrect any high spots before assembly by continuing to move the valve cover in figure eight motion until uniform bright metallic finish is attained#
