2Insert an inside dial indicator into the piston pin boreThe maximum diameter must be within specificationsTake two measurements to ensure accuracyMEASURING PISTON SKIRTCYLINDER CLEARANCE
1Insert an inside dial indicator to measure the cylinder front to back in six places2Measure the corresponding piston diameter at point 10 mm (0.40 in above the piston skirt at right angle to the piston-pin boreSubtract this measurement from the measurement in step 1The difference (clearance) must be within specifications
