! CAUTION If the oil filter element is inserted backwards, engine damage will occur due to lack of oil flow
7Place the filter cover in position with the triangle mark up and secure with the cap screwsTighten securely8Install the crankcase drain plug and tighten to specifications; then install the oil tank drain plug and tighten to specificationsATV2029

NOTE: Clean up any excess oil after removing the filter
! CAUTION
Any oil used in place of the recommended oil could cause serious engine damageDo not use oils which contain graphite or molybdenum additivesThese oils can adversely affect clutch operationAlso, not recommended are racing, vegetable, non-detergent, and castor-based oils
9Pour the recommended type and quantity of oil (see Section 1) into the oil level stick hole; then start the engine (while the ATV is outside on level ground) and allow it to idle for few minutes10Turn the engine off and wait approximately one minuteCheck the oil level with the oil level stickThe oil level should be between the upper and lower crosshatch marks on the level stickAdjust oil level as necessaryNOTE: The oil level stick should not be threaded into the oil tank for checking purposes
