On the coolant temperature switch when the water temperature reaches 112-118' (234-244' F), the meter should read closed circuitOn the coolant temperature switch, allow the water to cool, and when the temperature is within temperature range of 108-111' (226-232' F), the meter should read an open circuitOn the cooling fan switch when the temperature reaches 66-68' (150-155' F), the meter should read closed circuitOn the cooling fan switch, allow the water to cool, and when the temperature is within temperature range of 62-65' (145-149' F), the meter should read an open circuitIf the readings are not as indicated, the switch must be replacedInstall the switch and tighten securelyConnect the switch leads RESISTANCE (Fan Motor Connector)
Iresistance tests to avoid damaging the multimeter 1
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position2Connect the red tester lead to the blue wire; then connect the black tester lead to the black wire
Always disconnect the battery when performing
3The meter must show less than ohm
