WNOTE: The large grease pack is for the inner drive axle bearing and boot assembly 9Slide the new outer boot onto the shaft with the new clamps positioned as shownNote the different-sized clamps from removalW NOTE: The boot is positioned correctly when the small end of the boot seats down into the recessed groove
10Using Boot Clamp Pliers (pln 0444-1201, secure both outer boot clamps
5Inspect the splines of the shaft? the bearing ring7 and the housing for damageW NOTE: If any damage is apparent to the splines, the bearing ring, andlor the housing, the drive axle must be replaced as an assembly
It is important that the clamps are positioned correctlv or they mav loosen when in motion
6Using side-cutters (or suitable substitute) remove the small clamp from the shaft
ASSEMBLING AXLES Install the inner boot with the small clamp making sure the ends of the clamp are positioned correctlyATV-I 048
