Front Drive Selector Actuator (400 FIS500)

3With the engine running at constant 5000 RPM (with the headlights on), the meter must show 14-15.5 D.Cvolts
Do not run the engine at high RPM for more than 10 secondsI NOTE: With the engine stopped and the ignition switch in the ON position, momentary "whirring" sound must be noticeable each time the selector switch is moved to 2WD and 4WDTest the switch, 30 amp fuse, and wiring connections prior to testing the actuator

Select the 2WD position on the front drive selector switch; then disconnect the three-prong connector on the actuator wiring harnessWith the ignition switch in the OFF position, connect the black tester lead to the black wire in the supply harness; then connect the red tester lead to the orange wire in the supply harnessTurn the ignition switch to the ON positionThe meter must show 12 D.CvoltsConnect the red tester lead to the whitelred wire in the supply harnessThe meter must show 12 D.CvoltsSelect the 4WD position on the front drive selector switch; then connect the red tester lead to the whitelred wire in the supply harnessThe meter must show D.CvoltsConnect the red tester lead to the orange wire in the supply harnessThe meter must show 12 D.CvoltsI NOTE: If the voltage readings are as specified and the actuator does not function correctly, replace the actuator (see Section 6)
