7Start the engine (while the ATV is outside on level ground) and allow it to idle for few minutes8Turn the engine off and wait approximately one minute9Unscrew the oil level stick and wipe it with clean cloth10Install the oil level stick and thread into the engine caseKX019A
NOTE: The oil level stick should be threaded into the case for checking the oil level
3Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the engine and drain the oil into drain pan
11Remove the oil level stick; the engine oil level should be above the illustrated "L" mark but not higher than the illustrated "F" mark
!CAUTION
Do not over-fill the engine with oilAlways make sure that the oil level is above the "L" mark but not higher than the "F" mark
4Using the Oil Filter Wrench (pn 0444-042) and appropriate handle, remove the old oil filterNOTE: Clean up any excess oil after removing the filter
