Handlebar Grip
REMOVING

1Remove the plug from the head of the rivet2Using 18-indrill bit, drill out the rivet3Using compressed air between the grip and the handlebar, twist the grip back and forth until it slides free of the handlebarAL600D

7Insert each tie rod end into the actuator arm; then install the slotted nut and tighten to 4.2 kg-m (30 ft-lb)Lock the nuts with the cotter pinsFig8-19

INSPECTING NOTE: Whenever part is worn excessively, cracked, or damaged in any way, replacement is necessary
1Inspect the grip for wear, cuts, or cracks2Inspect the grip for deteriorationINSTALLING NOTE: Before installing grip, use contact spray or alcohol to clean the inside of the grip and the handlebar of glue residue, oil, or any other contaminant
1Apply liberal amount of Handlebar Grip Adhesive (pn 0636-071) to the inside of the gripAF778D
