RESISTANCE (Brakelight Switch Connector)
! CAUTION
Always disconnect the battery when performing resistance tests to avoid damaging the multimeterNOTE: The brake lever must be compressed for this testAlso, the ignition switch must be in the OFF position
1Set the meter selector to the OHMS position2Connect the red tester lead to one black wire; then connect the black tester lead to the other black wireFig5-8

3When the oil temperature reaches 160 (320 F), the meter should read closed circuit4Allow the oil to cool, and when the temperature is at (or just before) temperature of 140 (284 F), the meter should read an open circuit5If the readings are not as indicated, the temperature switch must be replaced6Apply teflon tape to the threads of the switch; then install the switch and tighten securely7Connect the temperature switch leads
