TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE
On all models, front and rear tire inflation pressure should be 0.35 kg-cm2 (5.0 psi)A low-pressure gauge is provided in the tool kit to measure the air pressure in the tiresCheck the air pressure in all tires before each use of the ATV
NutsCap Screws
Tighten all nuts and cap screwsMake sure rivets holding components together are tightReplace all loose rivetsCare must be taken that all calibrated nuts and cap screws are tightened to specifications
Steering Components Ignition Timing
The following steering components should be inspected periodically to ensure safe and proper operationAHandlebar grips worn, broken, or looseBHandlebar bent, cracked, and equal and complete full-left and full-right capabilityCSteering post bearing assemblybearing housing broken, worn, or bindingDBall joints worn, cracked, or damagedETie rods bent or crackedFKnuckles worn, cracked, or damagedGCotter pins damaged or missing
The ignition timing cannot be adjusted; however, verifying ignition timing can aid in troubleshooting other componentsTo verify engine timing, use the following procedure1Attach the engine Timing Light (pn 0644-197) to the spark plug high tension lead; then remove the timing inspection plug from the left-side crankcase cover2Using the Arctic Cat Engine Tachometer (pn 0644-275), start the engine and run at the recommended RPM; ignition timing should be the recommended degrees BTDCIGNITION TIMING MODEL TIMINGRPM below 1800 35 above 3800 below 1800 30 above 3800 10 1500
